Imago Cinematography — Edmonton Wedding Video Blog bio picture

A Little About Us...

Imago began in 2003 as a vision to create better wedding videos. If you've watched a wedding video from the last decade or so, you'll most likely understand what we mean. We wanted to create a wedding videos that couples would actually want to watch again and again. We wanted to create wedding films with meaning. With a story. We promise it wont be boring or cheesy. We use stunning visuals and breathtaking attention to detail that weave together the story of your wedding day. Just watch one of our videos!

We use the best equipment and techniques to create your timeless film and we're always pushing the edge. We love to incorporate motion and movement in our films because ultimately, that's what film is about. Our clients are diverse and no wedding is ever the same. We've experienced weddings from many cultures and we know how to adapt and be flexible under any circumstance. And we love to try new things.

We're based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, but we love to travel. We frequently travel to the Rocky Mountains, Calgary, and Vancouver to film weddings. Due to the cold climate in St. Albert, we'd love it if you'd bring us with you to somewhere warm. Check out our travel page for more details.

Vanessa + Vinson

I love Chinese weddings. They are colourful, relaxed, and full of laughter. If you’re not familiar with Chinese weddings, the groom goes to the bride’s house in the morning and has to complete several challenges and then bribe his way past the bridesmaids to get his bride. In this case, Vinson has to perform a Backstreet Boys music video in front of Vanessa’s parent’s house.

Vanessa & Vinson’s beautiful wedding was held Convocation Hall at the University of Alberta. The wedding day consisted of a lot of laughter, beautiful colours of red and bright white, as well as some amazing locations! We shot alongside Klyment of Klyment Tan Photography who was the first photographer we’ve seen that pulled out an old medium-format camera at a wedding. It makes a cameo appearance midway through the film. The event was coordinated and extremely-well managed by Renee Chan of getwed

Even while editing this film I found myself grinning to the point that my cheeks were sore!

Baby Emma

Apparently four-letter baby names starting with “E” are all the rage this year (at least in our limited experience). After last month’s blog post of Baby Ella’s photos, Emma’s mother Sam asked us to do a session with her baby, Emma. Emma is six months old and was a lot of fun to work with. It didn’t take much to get her to smile! We’re super happy with how the photos turned out!

Gabriela + Domenico

We had the absolute pleasure of shooting our fist amazing couple of the year:: Gabriela + Domenico. The wedding took place in Edmonton with the Ceremony at St. Joseph’s Basilica and a beautiful reception that followed at the Sutton Place Hotel.

Gabriela + Domenico created a very memorable wedding which so elegantly showed off there love for one another. We spent the morning with the ladies at The Rock hair salon in St. Albert, and then moved to the Sutton Place to capture the moments leading up to the Ceremony, in one of the nicest hotel rooms in town. The Ceremony was nothing but pure elegance.

The Reception which followed was nothing short of extravagant, with some of the best favors we have seen to date and a five-course Italian dinner. We feel very blessed to have been given the opportunity to work with Gabby and Dom!

We would also like to thank Kelsy Nielson, whom we had the pleasure to shoot alongside with! You should check out her photos, they turned out amazing!

Without further ado check out their highlights film!

Trash the Groom?

What a weekend! This past weekend has had to be one of our most chaotic weekends ever… and it was amazing! We had the pleasure of being able to be inspired by one of our latest couples:: Salima + Sameer.

We are so excited about how this weekend turned out we thought we would share a quick clip of what went down. TRASH THE GROOM. That’s right, you read correctly, the Groom. We thought trash the dress was all the rage, but this puts a whole new spin on “trash”.

I’ll let the film speak for itself :)
