A Little About Us...

Imago began in 2003 as a vision to create better wedding videos. If you've watched a wedding video from the last decade or so, you'll most likely understand what we mean. We wanted to create a wedding videos that couples would actually want to watch again and again. We wanted to create wedding films with meaning. With a story. We promise it wont be boring or cheesy. We use stunning visuals and breathtaking attention to detail that weave together the story of your wedding day. Just watch one of our videos!

We use the best equipment and techniques to create your timeless film and we're always pushing the edge. We love to incorporate motion and movement in our films because ultimately, that's what film is about. Our clients are diverse and no wedding is ever the same. We've experienced weddings from many cultures and we know how to adapt and be flexible under any circumstance. And we love to try new things.

We're based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, but we love to travel. We frequently travel to the Rocky Mountains, Calgary, and Vancouver to film weddings. Due to the cold climate in St. Albert, we'd love it if you'd bring us with you to somewhere warm. Check out our travel page for more details.

New Features for Wedding Videos

We’ve been hard at work developing some new features for our clients and pushing the edge of wedding cinematography. You can see some of these features on the blog, but we thought it would be a good idea to explain some of them.

Same-Day Edit
A same-day edit is a feature that can be added to any signature or diamond package (it’s included on the platinum package). For a same-day edit, we edit the video throughout the day to show a short clip (around 3-5 minutes) at your reception of our favorite shots. Your guests will get to see the moments leading up to the ceremony (getting ready, the dress, the emotion!), shots from the ceremony, and video from your photos. Always a crowd-pleaser, the same-day edit is quite a feat for us to do, but the work always pays off. Check out a sample of what would be shown at a reception here.

Love Story
A love story is a short film/documentary featuring the story of how you and your fiance met, your first date, how you fell in love, the story of the proposal, and how you feel about the wedding. We shoot the video before the wedding, and show it at the reception for your guests. It’s a great way for your guests to get to know YOUR story.

Vintage Filming (8mm)
We’re especially excited about offering the vintage film feature, where we shoot a short film alongside your wedding video. The twist is that we do it with a 1960′s era professional 8mm video camera. You have to see it to believe it. It’s a lot of fun, has a nostalgic feel to it, and it’s a one-of-a-kind. See a sample here.

Projector Rental
We also have a projector available for rent at your reception. We’ve been getting a lot of questions about where brides and grooms can find projectors for their receptions, so we decided to make it easier and got one of our own. We’ll even set it up! Call ahead for availability.

If you are interested in adding any of these features to your wedding package, give us a call.

Eva & Chris – Wedding Preparation Highlights

Eva & Chris’ wedding was shot right here in Edmonton. Although we never got the chance to meet Eva or Chris up until a few weeks before their wedding, we really got to know them on their wedding day. Eva and Chris had huge families that travelled from all over to come to their wedding, which made it that much more memorable.

Here’s a taste from the moments leading up to their wedding ceremony.

Vintage Wedding – Shot with 8mm film

We had a blast at Jason and Sabrina’s Wedding. They were a lot of fun. One thing they asked for us do to on their wedding day was to make a short film using 8mm film as well as a high definition video. We brought out our trusty professional Canon Super8 film camera for the day. Shooting in 8mm changes the atmosphere of the video and allows us to be a lot more playful with our shots and the videos always leave you smiling!

First SDE of the Year

Our first Same-Day Edit of the year. The weather wasn’t looking good, but it turned out to be an amazing day. Combined with the Love Story we did for them, the video was a hit at the reception.
