Imago began in 2003 as a vision to create better wedding videos. If you've watched a wedding video from the last decade or so, you'll most likely understand what we mean. We wanted to create a wedding videos that couples would actually want to watch again and again. We wanted to create wedding films with meaning. With a story. We promise it wont be boring or cheesy. We use the best equipment and techniques to create your timeless film and we're always pushing the edge. We love to incorporate motion and movement in our films because ultimately, that's what film is about. Our clients are diverse and no wedding is ever the same. We've experienced weddings from many cultures and we know how to adapt and be flexible under any circumstance. And we love to try new things.
We're based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, but we love to travel. We frequently travel to the Rocky Mountains, Calgary, and Vancouver to film weddings. Due to the cold climate in St. Albert, we'd love it if you'd bring us with you to somewhere warm. Check out our travel page for more details.
We have been very fortunate this past year to have been invited to work with so many incredible couples. Many of our couples have booked us so long in advance, and there is a tremendous amount of build up to the wedding. With the wedding of Shanley + Tam this has been the case more then ever. Over the past year we have been very excited to work with Shanley and Tam, as we have gotten to know these two we have learned a lot about them. They are both very successful in both their personal and professional lives and have been very kind and gracious to us.
In addition to having worked with such a great couple, the vendors they chose were some of the absolute best. All of the wedding planning was done alongside Renée and Judy from getwed Event Designs. Renée is one of our favorite planners to work with, she is very organized and on top of every last detail! In additon to working with Renée, we also got to work alongside the guys from JT images. We always have a blast working alongside each other and really apreciate the work these guys do!
You may notice that this was a same-day edit (SDE). SDE’s require a lot of work and preparation, but always prove their worth when we get to watch the reaction from the Bride and Groom! Tam + Shanley had a packed day full of tea ceremonies, church ceremonies, and a exciting reception. We can’t wait to show you the rest!
June has been our busiest month on record. I don’t think we’ve ever travelled to so many weddings in one month!
Last weekend we had the pleasure of filming a Same-Day edit for Stephanie and Gabor. Although it was a tight schedule, we were still able to pull it off and have time to enjoy some of the amazing food at their reception (this doesn’t always happen!) Stephanie came up to us after we showed the film to let us know how amazing it is to be able to re-live the day and to realize what you’ve accomplished.
You may notice at the beginning of the film there are a few shots from Stephanie’s dress fitting. This was a first for us and it was really exciting to be able to capture that part of their story.
Megan & Neil’s wedding was one of our last of the 2009 season and although the weather was beautiful, it was very cold! It was cold enough that you can see their breath when we’re outside! Regardless of the cold, they had a beautiful wedding at the Wedding Pavilion in Calgary and you have to see Neil’s face when he sees Megan for the first time!
When Ryan & Melanie first called us and explained their concept of a James Bond wedding, we knew we’d be in for a treat. Tuxedos, black bow ties, Quantum of Solace Pins, a casino tables at the reception, and a true 007 entrance. We had an awesome time filming this wedding and experiencing something so unique.
Angelika and Sebastian had a late-fall wedding at St. Joseph’s Basilica in Edmonton. We were lucky enough to capture some great shots with the leaves still on the trees (a rare occurrence for Edmonton at that time of year!). When we arrived to film the guys getting ready we were quickly asked if we knew how to tie a tie. Embarrassingly, we didn’t. We did however have a great time filming them figure it out. Angelika and Sebastian both have great senses of humour and we were constantly laughing! Enjoy!
We did quite a bit of travelling last year, and one of our favourite destinations was shooting with Ian and Stacey in the Redrock desert, just West of Las Vegas. We posted some images from their wedding a while back, but we’ve been saving the film for a special occasion.
If you remember from our last post, Ian and Stacey had a small wedding with close family and friends in Las Vegas at the Wynn Hotel. We arrived the day before the wedding and were even able to film them getting their marriage license at the Clark County Courthouse (open 24/7!). After the ceremony the limo driver picked us up and asked us where we’d like to go for the couples photo/video session. I said we need mountains, cactuses, and no signs of civilization. 45 minutes later we found our spot.
