Alison + David // Banff Wedding Video

Alison and David had a lot of guests at their weddings that had never been to the Rockies, let alone Canada! So they put together a wedding weekend of adventures and experiences for their friends and family. From horse-drawn carriage rides down Banff Ave., line dancing lessons at a saloon, to a traditional Calgarian ‘White Hat’ welcome ceremony.

Alison and David are world travellers who have made close friends wherever they travel, and you can see what an impact they’ve made worldwide by the number of their guests who flew from all corners of the globe to see their wedding!

One of my favourite details from their wedding was the flash dance that happened during the reception. Nearly half of the guests participated! Keep an eye out for it near the end of the film!

Cindy + David // Art Gallery of Alberta Wedding Film

Cindy and David had a fun and beautiful wedding at the Art Gallery of Alberta, in Edmonton. It was an early start to the day (I think we were up somewhere near 5 am!), as David and his groomsmen had to barter/perform challenges with the bridesmaids to allow David to take her to the wedding.

The Art Gallery is an incredible building, with sweeping modern architecture, fantastic atmospheric lighting, and great spaces to work with. Cindy and David held there ceremony in the Ledcor Theatre for a packed house!

Janae + Cris // Banff Wedding Film

Janae and Cris both live in Toronto, but wanted a Rocky Mountain winter wedding in Banff. So they invited their guests to join them at one of our favourite spots to film a wedding, the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel! Banff’s “Castle of the Rockies” is a building full of history and adventure. From ice skating in the courtyard, making smores by the fire outside of Rundle Hall, or enjoying the natural hot springs as snow falls around you. Janae and Cris’ guests were able to experience many of the hotel’s historic halls as each event was held in a different room!

As usual, when we are in Banff, we’re on the lookout for wildlife and we encountered a family of mule deer near Tunnel Mountain who were quite comfortable with my presence, unlike the large herd of Elk that you can see later in the film who left the area shortly after we arrived.

Wow that is spectacular! I love the shot of you two against the rockies, and all the beautiful details of the reception. Such a great video, and such a gorgeous couple!

Fidelma + Daniel // Emerald Lake Elopement Film

Fidelma and Daniel contacted us just two weeks before their wedding to see if we would be able to film their elopement at Emerald Lake Lodge, in British Columbia. We’ve always wanted to see Emerald Lake as we’ve heard some much about it, and were really excited that we could make it. It did not disappoint! Emerald Lake is a quiet, rustic, rocky mountain lodge hidden from busyness of the world. The Lodge is nestled alongside of Emerald lake and surrounded by incredible mountain ranges and glaciers. When we arrived there was over a meter of snow in some places! I walked off the marked trail at one point and sunk down in snow up to my waist!

Fidelma and Daniel had a quiet and intimate wedding ceremony in Yoho Lounge, with a spectacular view. After the ceremony, Fidelma surprised Daniel by singing a beautiful Irish folk song. We were blown away! They also performed an incredible Waltz for their first dance. Both Fidelma and Daniel treated us like we were the closest of friends.

We worked alongside our good friends Kirstie and Kevin, from Orange Girl Photography. Nobody knows the Rockies like Kirstie does! She also seems to have a magic power over sunlight, as whenever she went to take a picture, the sun appeared! Be sure to check out her incredible images over on her blog.

Thank you so much Luke and Ryan for capturing the essence of our wedding day! Emerald Lake is a stunning location and your footage does not fail to do it justice. There is so much footage we didn’t even realize you had taken! Outstanding work! It was a pleasure to have you both at our wedding!

Absolutely Stunning! What a beautiful place to have a wedding!!!

Hanh + Shun | Maui, Hawaii Wedding Videography

Our four days in Maui with Hanh and Shun had to be some of our favourite moments of last year! Hanh and Shun had put together an intimate beach wedding in Maui for themselves and a few friends… all the way from the UK! They spent 15 hours flying! Unfortunately, as you might notice in the video, a few guests are missing! The night before the wedding, many of the guests had food poisoning from a bad batch of shrimp. The wedding had to carry on anyway, but was just as breathtaking and amazing, albeit a little smaller.

While we were in Maui, we took the opportunity to drive up Haleakala, a dormant volcano, for the most breathtaking star watching and sunrise! It was an incredible experience and you can see some of the shots in their film (and a few images below). We had such an incredible time capturing Hanh and Shun’s wedding story, and they treated us like honoured guests. We’re incredibly thankful to them for their kindness and generosity.

Hawaii really is a visually stunning location. You captured Maui beautifully. We were there in 2009 and reviewing your video is a great reminder of the beauty of this island. I especially love the stars footage at the end. You guys are extremely talented! Looking forward to our wedding video :-)

Andriana + Ryan’s Highlights // Fort Edmonton Wedding Video

One of the best parts of crafting a wedding film is creating something that represents the personalities of the Bride and Groom. These two had personality to spare!

Ryan and Andriana had a beautiful vintage wedding at Fort Edmonton Park, featuring steam engines, horses, and a World War II-era aircraft hanger. As usual, we can never fit everything in a highlights film, and there are so many moments that didn’t make it in the film. You will have to ask Ryan and Andriana to see their full film!
